About

It can be difficult to change even if we are aware where we would like to go. It can be frustrating when we ask ourselves “How did I get here?” or “I know what is wrong, I feel powerless to change?” These are important questions to be asking and shows an awareness that a part of you is recognizing that your able to change and you’re working on ways of undergoing this process.

Counseling has many definitions, in the purest form I feel it is a relationship where there is the presence of non-judgement, compassion is felt, a feeling of safety is experienced, and a re-discovery on how it feels to be heard and seen.

No matter what your situation, I considerate it a privilege to be in a counseling relationship with individuals, couples, or families as discoveries are made which provide hope and lasting change. We all have unique experiences and I support this by providing an eclectic therapeutic approach to allow you to feel comfortable with the direction of our work in conjunction with your goals. I tend to utilize elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused, narrative therapy, and reality therapy. In work that is centered on trauma we may look into using elements of internal family system, Polyvagal theory, clinical hypnotherapy, and existential therapies.

This may be your first time thinking about speaking to someone or you may have had past experiences with counseling with varied outcomes. You may not recognize it now, though by even reading these words you’re on your way to healing and change. I look forward to the possibility of meeting you and developing a therapeutic partnership where you can work on feeling free of which is not serving you.
